I have a question in response to this article. Do people who go on church mission trips miss Sunday church, sometimes weeks in a row? Our daughter has played traveling competitive fastpitch softball for 6 years now. We have always ben very active in church, were youth director and childrens directors. We have ALWAYS taught our chold that here teammates, most of whom she has played w/all 6 years, is her mission field and their parents are her dad's and mine. We feel God has blessed her wi/such talent, she pitches and plays 1st base. There are many great Christian players & coaches in sports across the board from professional level to little league. At this time in her life my daughter's dream is to play for a D-1 univ. and on the USA team. What an awesome opportunity that would be to use that position to be a Christian witness! Her travel coach is a good Christian lady who has been a great example to the McAlester Knockouts. Since she came on the team is well known for praying after every ballgame, w/ or w/o the other team. Other teams continually comment on the sportsmanship & integrity of the McAlester Knockouts, win or lose! It may not be for everyone, but God has allowed her this opportunity and sa soon as we feel Him leading us another direction, we will follow.
