America-Revival or Judgment?

It has been a few months since the release of Greg Frizzell's pilot book, Iceberg Dead Ahead: The Urgency of God-Seeking Repentance. The book outlines growing signs of sin's consequences and God's potential judgments. It also strongly emphasizes hope in that God has often brought great revivals out of times of trials or judgment. The Baptist Messenger asked Frizzell several questions.

The article mentioned that guided prayer was scheduled. What is needed is free flowing prayer, by the power of the Holy Spirit, anything less is of no real value no matter how good it looks or sounds. Henry Blackaby is good, but it seems to me that an unknown, godly, pastor of some small church would be evidence it was the Holy Spirit and his power alone Praise to the Lord Jesus john

It has become evident in Southern Baptist Life that many people hold to the idea that America is God's People and a Christian Nation. We quote 2 Sam. 7.14 and make "If my people" = "If the United States." Can I just please ask this to stop? The title of this article makes it sound like that revival of the state is what is necessary. Political activism then becomes a benchmark of spiritual maturity. We shudder at who is going to be potentially elected and have even feared that certain leaders could turn up as the Anti-Christ. God is not surprised at what is taking. Actually if one correctly understands the Bible, he is in control of it all, and nothing happens outside of his plan.
