Whatever happened to "law abiding Christian men and women?" Don't get me wrong, I've had my share of tickets and accidents. However, for some strange reason, it never dawned on me that I was putting the officer in danger and not setting a very good Christian example. For some reason, I had to marry an Oklahoma Highway Partolman to figure that out. As a wife, it bothers me that my husband is at risk every time he crosses that median, having to dodge crazy drivers, as well as double, sometimes triple his speed to catch up to Godly people breaking the law. It also really gets me when I see a church owned vehicle with it's name printed all over the outside, with kids, youth and even adults flopping all over the vehicle. No seat belts, way too many passengers, etc. It amazed me when my 10-year-old daughter had to tell the GA teacher, "Sorry, I'm not allowed to double buckle, sit in the floor of the van or any other illegal thing you are asking me to do. If I need to, I will go get my parents out of church and they will drive me around town to go Christmas caroling." What kind of example are we setting? It's bad enough that we are adults but "Christian" adults that think it's okay to bend the law, especially with children watching, really gets me.
