Here is a piece that aired on NPR reviewing Brian McLaren, his new book and the panel discussion from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. It is worth your time to listen to this and read the article.

Thanks Jeremy. I am always interested to hear mainstream media dip into the issues and debates of evangelicals. This particular interview reminded me of an irony. The McClarens of Christendom–it seems–pride themselves on being counter-cultural, at least that is something that they seem to strive for (along with the soul patch and plastic frames comes indy “films”–not movies, hybrids, fair trade coffee, etc.). All these things are fine and some very good, but none of them are that counter-cultural. There is a strong undercurrent supporting much of what McLaren stands for, and that came out in the npr report. Those that seemed especially out of step and particularly counter-cultural were the Mohlers and Hamiltons. Thanks for the link.
