Earlier this summer, a new podcast program was introduced by Oklahoma Baptists. Called “The Feeding & Leading Podcast,” the program is specifically designed to encourage and equip pastors and other ministry leaders.
Hosted by Todd Fisher and Andy Taylor, each podcast episode is approximately 25 minutes in length and has on one of two general focal points: pastoral leadership and the preaching of God’s Word.
The Feeding & Leading Podcast program offers two episodes per month, available for download on all podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify and more, as well as at oklahomabaptists.org/podcast.
Topics already covered in the episodes now available include: “The importance of expository preaching,” “SBC Annual Meeting review” and “Pastoral wellness.”
Todd Fisher serves as executive director-treasurer for Oklahoma Baptists, and Andy Taylor serves as Oklahoma Baptists east-central regional ministry partner. The two have more than 60 years of combined pastoral leadership experience.
“Andy Taylor and I are thrilled to love, support, encourage and equip local church pastors with these brief and targeted episodes!” Fisher said when the first “Feeding & Leading” podcast episode launched in June.
Pastor Jordy McKaskle, of Marlow, First, said, “I have already listened to the first episodes. Great content!” Pastor Colton Arbuckle of Seminole, Harvey Road said, “I’ve been loving the podcast!”
Podcast listening is on the rise in America. According to one news source, some “55 percent of Americans have listened to a podcast,” with more than 40 percent listening on a monthly basis.
The number of available podcasts grew exponentially during the recent pandemic, and statistics revealed podcast listening has greatly expanded, as only a few years ago (in 2015) less than 10 percent of Americans listened to podcasts on a regular basis.
