As the program director of Falls Creek Youth Camp and youth ministry partner for Oklahoma Baptists, Todd Sanders has a front-row seat in seeing God work in the lives of leaders and students. His ministry is to assist Oklahoma Baptist churches in advancing the Gospel among Oklahoma youth through training, leadership development and camp programming. Todd considers it a privilege and a blessing to serve Oklahoma Baptists in this way.
“I love to develop leaders to make disciple makers,” Todd said. “We enjoy an incredibly rich youth ministry community as Oklahoma Baptists. Each summer I have a front-row seat to the work God does in the lives of leaders and students though Falls Creek Youth Camp and then get to continue to make connections throughout the year to see the continued fruit of that work of the Spirit. It is truly a privilege and blessing to serve Oklahoma Baptists in this extended capacity.”
Though youth ministry is extremely rewarding, our everchanging culture, especially as it relates to youth, presents a big challenge. Post-Christian cultural divides, philosophical influences that challenge the place of the church in society, and a general distrust of authority figures, especially related to the faith community, hinder people from accepting the gospel. But Jesus is enough to overcome these things.
From June 5 through July 28, students from across Oklahoma will flock to Falls Creek for youth camp. There they will be challenged to live a disciple-making lifestyle by practicing personal evangelism. They will be immersed in learning that only one thing matters, one thing lasts, one thing will truly change the culture. There is only one answer, one difference, one provision and one way.
Jesus is all. Jesus is the statement. Jesus is enough.
Pray God will move in churches across Oklahoma to reach this generation and the ones to come. Pray God will give Todd guidance and clarity as he leads youth and youth leadership. Pray God will do what only He can do—save souls and change lives.
