Today at the Oklahoma State Capitol, lawmakers voted to approve two leading pieces of pro-life legislation.
The Oklahoma State House of Representatives voted 69-15 to approve House Bill 2797, the Humanity of the Unborn Child Act, which would establish a public education effort in high schools to educate students about the humanity and development of a pre-born child.
The bill now advances to the Oklahoma State Senate, which today voted 33-12 to approve Senate Bill 1552. The bill would direct the Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision and State Board of Osteopathic Examiners to revoke licenses for doctors who perform abortions. SB 1552 now advances to the desk of Gov. Mary Fallin for consideration.
Through events and various activities, both pieces of legislation have received a great deal of support from Christians and other pro-life people of faith in Oklahoma.
