The September 2024 annual Rally for Oklahoma Campers on Mission was hosted this year by Wallace Avenue Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK. This location brought back fond memories of assisting this fast-growing congregation’s transition into a larger facility in 2021.

The rally received encouragement with music led by Ken Hudson from Ada.  The program this year was presented by Dee Ann Schroyer, Director of Shawnee Hope Pregnancy Center. In 2003, OBHC opened the center in Shawnee supporting women and men with unplanned pregnancies and help them explore their choices without judgement. The center continues to offer programs through their child’s first year of life.  These programs include, ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, empowered parenting classes and community referrals for additional needs and services.  All programs are permission based.  The COM sewers presented this clinic with 100 Positive bags to the clinic to encourage new mothers with a bible, diapers and other baby necessities.

A construction project was completed at Macomb for the Student Center supported by Romulus Baptist Church.  Adding kitchen facilities at this location helps volunteers serve lunch to students from Macomb High school across the street.

Oklahoma Campers on Missions members are a testament to the power of Christian community service leaving a positive impact of their faith and love of Jesus. We travel to spread the Good News, living out the motto of “Sharing Christ As We Go.”
